ORIGINS

Noroc is born from a passion for the mountains, snowboarding, the environment, and the gear we use to move through it. It all started with a conviction that began over 10 years ago: things can be done differently and better. Better quality. Better design. Less impact. Products created from real experience and necessity, not from a spreadsheet.

That idea matured over the years in the mountains and from within the industry, understanding how the equipment we use for our greatest passion is developed, produced, and marketed.

Over time, that quest led me to study materials, technologies, supply chains, and manufacturing processes in different parts of the world. Learning how membranes, insulators, and recycled fibers work. Understanding where performance is lost and where environmental impact can be reduced.

Noroc is born from that process. From the passion for the mountains and the obsession with building a better system, one that allows us to enjoy more, for longer, while causing less harm to the environment that allows us to be there.

P.S.: We still believe it can be done better. We're just getting started!

COMMITMENT

We are aware that we exist in a market characterized by overconsumption. But we believe that better products can be part of the solution. A reduced system of intentional, durable, and functional garments can replace multiple lower-quality and higher-impact purchases. Doing less, but doing it better, is a concrete way to contribute.

For us, commitment is a sequence of decisions.

First, quality. A functional product, designed to last many years, reduces the need to have several products attempting to fulfill the same function during that period.

Next, minimizing its impact without sacrificing performance. We prioritize high-standard materials with a smaller footprint: PFAS-free membranes made from recycled nylon, fabrics from fishing nets, and insulation and fleeces made from post-consumer recycled polyester.

Then, traceability. We work with factories that allow us to know the origin of the yarn all the way to the final garment, and we have been able to visit the 2 main factories we work with to validate their processes and standards.

And finally, circularity. Designing repairable products to extend their lifespan. Responsibility does not end when the product reaches the user.

Throughout this process, the labor conditions of those who make our garments are non-negotiable, which is why we also visited the manufacturing factory.

We know that each of the points mentioned has much room for improvement, and that is where our commitment lies.
